BECOME A RACE DAY VOLUNTEER
When: Held annually the Saturday of Memorial Day Weekend
Where: Lakeside Park, Fond du Lac
We need upwards of 60 volunteers to make our annual half marathon, 5K, and kids' race a success! We need help before the day of the race organizing race packets, laying out the route markers, and more. On race day, we need help manning registration tables, setting up, marking the route, manning water tables, and more.

MARKETING COMMITTEE VOLUNTEERS
When: Ongoing
Where: Fond du Lac
Our Marketing Committee is constantly busy. We want to spread the word about all the great work our Salute the Troops team does to make a difference for veterans in our area. Will you join us?
Responsibilities include organizing marketing materials to potential sponsors and community partners, stuffing envelopes, and maintaining the website.

FOND DU LAC FONDUE FEST
When: Held annually the 2nd Saturday in September
Where: Downtown Fond du Lac
We need at least 10 volunteers to help with our brat tent at FDL Fondue Fest. This event is a major fundraiser for Salute the Troops. We need your help to make it happen -- so we can pass those funds on to veterans in need. Responsibilities will include cooking brats and selling brats and beer.

PROVIDE CHILDCARE FOR VETERANS SEEKING EMPLOYMENT
When: As needed
Where: Determined by Veteran
Often times veterans beginning to transition to civilian life don't need monetary help -- they need our community to give them just a little help to get them on their way. If you would be willing to provide childcare for the children of area veterans as they join the job hunt, let us know!

VOLUNTEER AT OUR ANNUAL VETERANS GALA
When: Held annually in November
Where: varies
Volunteers with this event are needed in a variety of ways, including, but not limited to manning registration tables, ushering, and clean up.

FIRE FOR EFFECT
When: January 14th 2023
Where: Rec Center, FDL County Fair Grounds
Fire for Effect is one of our biggest events of the year and we need a lot of help to make it happen so we can raise funding for the veterans in need in our communities. Responsibilities will include directing traffic and parking, operating the gates and other misc. activities like selling raffles etc. The best part about volunteering for this event? It's free admission into the event before or after your volunteer shift, with live music and free beer!
