The 5th annual Stars and Stripes Scramble is Tuesday, June 12 at The Golf Club at Camelot in Lomira, Wisconsin. Last year’s Stars and Stripes Scramble was a huge success and planning for the 2018 event is underway. Guests can expect a great time; organizers are hoping to exceed previous fundraising records. The Scramble helps Salute the Troops and local veteran’s organizations throughout Wisconsin. The event always starts with a beautiful flag ceremony and rifle volley by the Fond du Lac Marine Corps League, coupled with the Brownsville Fire Department to precede the shotgun start. The Scramble concludes with an amazing dinner. The keynote speaker this year will be Rob Vande Zande, a Gold Star Father and member of the Wounded Warrior Amputee Softball team. “Our local veterans are deserving and the support the community and the sponsors show through the Stars & Stripes Scramble is amazing,” said Laura Beaudoin, Stars & Stripes Scramble Committee chair. “We anticipate a fantastic event again this year.” This event has donated over $60,000 to families recommended by local veteran organizations such as American Legions, VFWs, Salute the Troops, Wisconsin Fisher House, Horicon Marsh Veterans Hunt, Gold Star Trail in Horicon and directly to the Salute the Troops’ Warrior House. The heart of the success of the Stars & Stripes Scramble is great sponsorships and, once again, CD Smith Construction will be leading the way. Through last year’s efforts, Salute the Troops, the key recipient and co-organizer, received $13,250. These funds benefit Salute the Troops’ Warrior House in Lomira and their many efforts throughout Dodge, Fond du Lac, and Sheboygan counties. Once again, we will donate from $500 to $1,500 to the organizations of Fisher House, Horicon Marsh Veterans Hunt, and other local veteran needs. We hope all of you will join us for the 5th annual Stars & Stripes Scramble. If it helps to commit your support early for fiscal reasons, if you are interested in participating, or sponsorship opportunities, please contact Laura at 920.269.4949 The Golf Club at Camelot for information and details.
